Tutkimus kiertotalouden ja oikeudenmukaisen elektroniikan tulevaisuuden puolesta.
Tutkimuksemme The E-Waste Columnissa keskittyy e-jätteeseen, kriittisiin raaka-aineisiin, siirtymämineraaleihin ja mineraalien kiertotalouteen.

The E-Waste Column toimii siten "kiertosiirtymän välittäjänä" elektroniikan ja teknologian sektorilla.
Miksi tutkimuksellamme on merkitystä?
"The E-Waste Column is a very useful resource for researchers and practitioners working on circular economy, e-waste and electronics sustainability. I particularly appreciate the way it provides accessible, well-curated and practical insights that help connect academic debates with concrete action."
— Sebastien Bourdin, Full Professor at IESEG School of Management
"Being a researcher dedicated to learn more about e-waste, the E-Waste Column is for me a great source of information about this topic. I can have access to the latest updates and also get inspiration from the cases, information and knowledge shared through this Column. Also, as far as I know it´s the only one fully dedicated to this important waste stream and for a person dedicated to this subject, I would really like to continue reading it!"
— Marta Brazão, PhD Researcher
As a Ph.D. researcher who spent four years studying the end-of-life management of medical imaging equipment at Tsinghua University — collaborating with Siemens Healthineers, Philips Healthcare, and GE Healthcare — and who contributed to EU–China standardisation through the SESEC project and engaged with the Basel Convention in Geneva, I have long felt the need for a platform that bridges technical expertise and practical action on e-waste. The E-Waste Action Hub does exactly that. Its Circular Actions tool, best practices resources, and compliance aids make circularity tangible for a wide range of stakeholders, from industry professionals to policymakers. For anyone working at the intersection of WEEE regulation, remanufacturing strategy, and circular supply chains — as I have across Romania, China, and European institutions — this is a genuinely useful and well-structured resource that fills a real gap in the field.
— Dr. Gabriel Zlamparet, Independent Consultant
"The E-Waste Column has become one of my go-to resources as an e-waste enthusiast and researcher. I particularly appreciate how it presents facts, data, and developments from different parts of the world, making it easier to understand how countries are approaching e-waste and electronics circularity. [The] E-Waste Column doesn't just share information, it connects policy, business, and sustainability in a way that is practical and easy to follow. The platform has broadened my perspective, strengthened my research, and continues to inspire meaningful conversations on responsible electronics management. I am more interested on data and the Column has been helpful with that."
— Dr. Virginiah Onyara, Founder of Green ICT Kenya
"The E-Waste Column fills a gap that anyone working at the intersection of LCA and EU regulation will recognise: the law and policy around e-waste, batteries, and critical raw materials moves faster than most practitioners can track, and almost all of the reliable analysis sits behind consultancy paywalls. A weekly, 450-word, plain-language read on where the regulatory picture is actually moving is a genuinely useful thing to have in a feed, and the E-Waste Database, free and open is what makes it valuable to early-career practitioners and smaller organisations rather than only to firms with a research budget. For those of us building work around EU frameworks, that accessibility matters as much as the content itself."
— Tanmay Bhattacharya, LCA consultant at Paranthropus AB
"The E-Waste Column occupies a genuinely rare position in the e-waste and electronics circularity space: it sits at the intersection of technical depth and policy literacy, which is not a combination you find easily. Most resources either go deep on the material science side of CRMs and WEEE, or they zoom out to the regulatory picture. The E-Waste Column does both, and it does so in a way that is actually readable. [...]
What I found missing elsewhere, and what the Column consistently provides, is that sense of context. Policy developments do not exist in a vacuum, and neither does the e-waste challenge. The Column connects the dots between governance moves, market dynamics, and circularity outcomes in a way that helps you form an actual view, not just accumulate information."
— Giovanni Rialto, Policy & Advocacy at Global Renewables Alliance
"The E-Waste and Circular Electronics space is highly regulated and complex, yet most people working in it are trained to do something else and have little insight into the specifics. So they all need to learn how to navigate this field in their respective positions. This is why I tell my team and new hires to get information and learn on The E-Waste Column because I know this is well researched information and up to date, yet well written and fairly easy to understand for someone foreign to the field."
— Therese von Alten, Business Development Manager at Recyclotronix GmbH
"The E-Waste Column has been one of the biggest sources of information for me in learning more about e-waste and electronics circularity, and the methods used that can support the effective management of such products. The resources provided by the E-Waste Column have given me a greater sense of how tackling the modern human societal phenomena of e-waste can be an effective method of climate action in terms of better management of precious materials and how effective management of e-waste can make the electronics industry more conscious of the environmental impacts of the lifecycles of their products and services."
— Cian Donovan, Research Assistant
"The E-Waste Column shines a light on some of the most important yet often overlooked aspects of the critical raw materials and electronics value chain. At a time when discussions are heavily focused on security of supply and strategic importance, Christine's work helps bring greater awareness to the sustainability, circularity, and social dimensions that can easily be hidden beneath the surface. It is a valuable resource for anyone seeking a more balanced and holistic understanding of the challenges and opportunities within the critical raw materials ecosystem."
— Abhinav Uniyal
"The E-Waste Column brought me a different perspective of how e-waste management is evolving in space and time. Figures, ideas and literature analysis from an independent point of view are valuable for all.
Besides data about possible environmental impacts, the column highlights something not-well known, even by experts, since value chain are very wide: the social impact. Hopefully, the awareness on this so far 'blind-eye' of waste management will grow as quickly as the column did over the past few years."
— Robin Ronceray, R&D EPR consultant
"While leading an e-waste management pilot project in the Rohingya refugee camps in Cox's Bazar, The E-Waste Column proved to be an invaluable resource. It significantly enhanced my understanding of e-waste management concepts, emerging challenges, and global best practices. The insights gained helped me design context-appropriate IEC materials, develop comprehensive survey questionnaires, and strengthen the overall implementation of the pilot project. The knowledge shared through the publication directly contributed to improving both the technical quality and community engagement aspects of the initiative."
— Md Sijanur Rahaman Robin, Project Manager - Energy at NGO Forum for Public Health
