In this fifteenth post of my unconventional #zerowaste alternative to an advent calendar, I am focusing on people and organizations working to create a better #ecosystem for #circularity by creating bridges between entrepreneurs, investors, and other stakeholders. I can recommend looking into their work and following them here on LinkedIn.
57) Elisa Achterberg is the co-founder of cise.network and the Circular Finance Lab. She also works as an associate at the Sustainable Finance Lab. Elisa’s work revolves around supporting entrepreneurs to scale their circular ideas and aiding investors in making financing work for circularity. She helps both entrepreneurs and investors to find the financial language and business cases needed to push circularity forward. In line with this, CiSe Network provides financial models, legal contracts, and educational content to help businesses make circularity profitable.
58) Harald Friedl is the founder of the Circular Economy Innovation Agency. In the past, Harald worked as the CEO of Circle Economy, where he co-initiated the Circularity Gap Report. He also co-founded the Impact Hub Network’s hub in Yangon, Myanmar. Through the Circular Economy Innovation Agency, Harald works to break down silos and scale circular action through cross-industry partnerships and collaborations. His work is focused on connecting industries, facilitating the transfer of knowledge between organizations, and establishing hubs for circular innovation. Harald also regularly posts about circular economy topics on LinkedIn.
59) Kavita Sachwani works as a lead on the circular economy and pollution at the United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative (UNEP FI). She previously worked as a sustainable finance lead at The World Bank. Kavita switched from the mainstream financial services sector over to the sustainable and circular finance sector. She has experience in policy advocacy, program management, and strategy implementation – amongst others – in the circular economy, climate change, and financial inclusion. Through her work, she aims to connect stakeholders and create bridges between financial institutions, governments, and regulators.
60) Martijn Lopes Cardozo is a partner at Regeneration.VC, a member of the board of directors at Orbisk | Zero Food Waste, an expert advisor for building a waste-free world at The Earthshot Prize, and an entrepreneur in residence at YES!Delft. In the past, he also worked as the CEO of Circle Economy. Martijn’s work largely revolves around supporting and financing entrepreneurs, who are using circular and regenerative principles in the design, use, and re-use of products and services. He also regularly gives key notes and posts on LinkedIn about regenerative principles and the circular economy.
